The cars of the Silverstone based Formula 1 motor racing team Force India will certainly stand out far more this season. As part of a major new sponsorship deal with Austrian specialist water technology company BWT the livery of the cars has changed from silver and black to an eye-catching predominantly pink design with touches of silver and magenta!
The team was formed back in October 2007 when a consortium headed by Indian businessman Vijay Mallya bought the Spyker F1 team and transformed it into Force India, their on track debut being at the following year’s Australian Grand Prix. The team has now competed in 171 races and finished a very creditable fourth in last year’s Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship after enjoying its best season to date.
The Force India drivers for 2017, Mexican Sergio Perez and Frenchman Esteban Ocon, will both wear helmets incorporating the new pink livery too, so there’s no excuse for not picking them out amongst the other 18 cars which will line up on the grid at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit on Sunday 26th March.
